On Saturday 24 October 2026, That Candle Company brought a little luxury and Christmas magic to Trowbridge Weavers Market, held at Trowbridge Town Hall in Wiltshire.

With our handmade scented candles, beautiful Christmas fragrances and a rather magnificent crowned swan taking centre stage, we were delighted to share our collection with visitors at this wonderful local market.

Our stall was located upstairs inside the Town Hall, where we created a welcoming display designed to celebrate the beauty of handcrafted candles, thoughtful gifts and the festive season.

For us, the day was about much more than selling candles. It was an opportunity to meet people, share our passion for fragrance and explain what makes a luxury handmade candle so special.

Bringing That Candle Company to Trowbridge Weavers Market

Preparing for a Christmas craft fair takes plenty of planning, especially when you want to create something a little different.

At That Candle Company, presentation matters just as much as the fragrances we create. We wanted our stall at Trowbridge Weavers Market to feel less like an ordinary market table and more like a small luxury candle boutique.

Black velvet provided an elegant backdrop for our candles, allowing the beautiful colours, glass vessels and festive packaging to stand out.

From shimmering gold Christmas candles to elegant emerald-green designs, every part of the display was carefully arranged to create a sense of warmth, sophistication and Christmas excitement.

We also brought along our everyday scented candle collections, giving visitors the opportunity to explore fragrances suitable for every season.

King Swan at Trowbridge Weavers Market – A Royal Christmas Tradition

Taking pride of place in the centre of our display was our magnificent crowned white swan, affectionately known as King Swan.

He certainly added a touch of theatre to the occasion!

But there’s an interesting historical reason why a swan makes such a fitting Christmas centrepiece.

Long before turkey became a familiar part of the British Christmas dinner, swans were served at prestigious medieval feasts, particularly among royalty and the wealthy.

Historical records even tell us that King Henry III ordered 40 swans for Christmas celebrations at Winchester in 1247.

In medieval England, swans were associated with wealth, status and elaborate celebrations. Their regal reputation makes King Swan a rather appropriate companion for our luxury Christmas candle collection.

Thankfully, our King Swan is here to be admired rather than eaten!

We love bringing a little personality and history into our displays, and he fitted beautifully among our festive candles.
