How To Relax.
So, what are the best methods to really relax? At first glance, this may sound like a silly question. However, in these modern times, when we always seem to be rushing around trying to make ends meet, our stress levels can really take a negative toll on our health. In fact, stress and anxiety are at an all-time high. Therefore, learning how to relax effectively has become more important than ever.
Take A Holiday?
Wouldn’t it be great if taking a holiday was the solution to controlling our stress and anxiety levels? Yes, of course, a holiday is a great way to de-stress—sometimes! However, as wonderful as it sounds, I don’t know about you, but I find the whole holiday thing a bit stressful in itself. For instance, delays in transport, incorrect hotel bookings, and other unexpected issues can easily turn a relaxing trip into a source of frustration. Consequently, in my opinion, a short holiday really isn’t the ultimate solution. Instead, we need to find ways to relax in our everyday lives.

Don’t worry I have some answers.
Before we get into some of the solutions, lets first look at some of the issues.
What are some of the top causes of stress and anxiety?
The main causes of stress can vary from person to person, but some common sources include:
1. Work-related pressures
- Heavy workloads or tight deadlines
- Job insecurity or lack of control
- Conflicts with colleagues or management
2. Financial difficulties
- Debt or insufficient income
- Unexpected expenses
- Pressure to maintain a certain lifestyle
3. Relationship issues
- Family conflicts or divorce
- Loneliness or lack of social support
- Caring for dependents or ill family members
4. Health concerns
- Chronic illness or injury
- Poor sleep or unhealthy lifestyle habits
- Worry about personal or loved ones’ health
5. Major life changes
- Moving, changing jobs, or retirement

How I deal with stress and anxiety.
For me, it’s all about finding my most comfortable space. To begin with, I make sure to surround that space with everything that makes me feel happy and, crucially, relaxed! Over time, I’ve learned to take one day at a time. In the past, I worked long hours, day in and day out, to the point of burnout. Back then, I used to just look forward to my holiday, but eventually, I realised that this was never enough to manage my stress levels.
Now, I understand that I need to take time for myself every single day, even if it’s just for an hour or two. Once I get home after the working day, the first thing I do is remove my shoes. Then, without fail, I light a luxury scented candle. After that, I take a shower, get into something comfortable, and watch a movie. Admittedly, you might think I’m biased because I make luxury scented candles—but honestly, it works for me. Moreover, I have my favourite scents, and somehow that scented environment really helps me relax. It’s as if my mind knows that once I’m in that environment, I can truly unwind.
What are the top 5 ways to Combat Stress?
1. Practice deep breathing or meditation
Spend a few minutes focusing on your breath or using a guided meditation app to calm your mind and reduce tension.
I myself don’t use such apps. If you do, and you find them helpful, please leave a comment.
2. Warm water helps relax your muscles, ease physical tension, and promote a sense of calm. The soothing heat can also improve circulation and prepare your body for rest. To enhance the experience, add a few drops of essential oils like lavender or chamomile, or sprinkle in bath salts to help detoxify and soften your skin. Light a few luxury scented candles to fill the space with a gentle, comforting aroma, creating a spa-like atmosphere that melts away stress and soothes the senses.
3. Listen to soothing music or sounds
Soft music, nature sounds, or ambient playlists can lower stress levels and create a peaceful atmosphere.
4. Read or watch something uplifting
A good book, movie, or show can help you unwind and shift your focus away from daily worries.
5. Engage in a calming hobby
Activities like drawing, cooking, gardening, or knitting can be therapeutic and help you relax while doing something enjoyable.
